
MISSION
The mission of the Grade School library is to ensure that the pupils and staff become effective users of ideas and information. This mission is carried out by:
- Assessing the needs of the school’s program and the users to support the instruction;
- Providing physical and intellectual access to materials in varied formats;
- Establishing an overall plan for collection development;
- Identifying and creating a guide for selection procedures;
- Establishing acquisition guidelines;
- Establishing a maintenance program;
- Employing creative measures to ensure the maximum utilization of library resources;
- Working with teachers to meet the needs of the pupils;
- Arousing the community’s interest in reading.
ROLE IN THE COMMUNITY
The role of the Grade School Library is to provide learners access and assistance to scholarly information resources. It offers learning services, books, and resources that enable all members of the school community to become critical thinkers and effective users of information in different formats and media.
