GOALS

The Grade School Library program focuses on the development of an Augustinian community of learners.  A creative and energetic program includes the following goals:

• To implement, enrich, and support the educational program of Colegio San Agustin;
• To provide resources, services, and facilities for instructional, research, and information needs of teachers, pupils, and other school personnel and the whole Augustinian community taking into consideration the varied interest, learning needs and the maturity level of the users;
• To acquire, organize, and enrich library collection that will meet the needs of the CSA community;
• To provide for the leisure reading needs of the readers;
• To support literacy initiatives and activities of the school;
• To integrate new technology and information into the school program; and
• To develop and provide a total library service program for Colegio San Agustin.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

As a result of utilizing the resources of the school library, pupils and staff will:

• Gain pleasure and knowledge from reading a variety of genre;

• Develop and apply research skills, using a variety of media technology;

• Select resources to meet personal needs and interests with increasing independence;

• Demonstrate a willingness to share skills, knowledge, and opinions; and

• Learn to care for books and all library holdings/facilities.
